BARE NAKED begins with virgin beeswax from our own hives, cupuaçu and shea butters, and a focused blend of botanical oils. Eight materials, each with a distinct contribution to the care, structure, and feel of the finished butter.

For the Skin

Cupuaçu butter forms the moisture-retentive center of Bare Naked. Its ability to take up and hold moisture helps dry lips remain soft and flexible while giving the composition its generous cushion.

Shea butter, naturally rich in stearic and oleic acids, brings deeper conditioning and pliability. It adds velvety substance alongside the softer cupuaçu, helping smooth the feeling of rough, weathered lips.

Marula oil contributes oleic-rich emollience that softens and conditions, while red raspberry seed oil supplies linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids. Marula brings a rounder richness; raspberry brings lighter conditioning that balances the denser butters.

Within the Composition

Virgin beeswax from Cult of Bees hives gives Bare Naked its protective framework. It holds the butters and oils together and helps limit moisture loss, leaving a supple layer that remains present as the lips move.

Cupuaçu and shea soften that framework, balancing the beeswax’s firmness with a yielding body. Natural vitamin E tocopherols help protect the botanical oils and butters from oxidation, supporting their freshness and integrity over time.

On the Skin

Jojoba oil, composed largely of wax esters, helps the richer materials spread in a fine, even layer. It brings smoothness and ease to the first glide.

Castor oil adds cushion and subtle grip, keeping that movement controlled and giving the butter its gentle persistence. As the composition warms, the butters yield and the oils move together, leaving the lips softly conditioned.

The natural aromas of the beeswax, butters, and oils complete Bare Naked’s character. What the materials contribute to its scent is as much a part of the composition as their softness, structure, and glide.
