Triptych | Virgin Beeswax, Lanolin & Emu Oil Lip Balm
• One (1) twist-up tube | approx. 0.2oz
Strength for lips under any sky
Built around a triptych of foundational materials — Maryland virgin beeswax, New Zealand lanolin, and Montana emu oil — this balm was composed for lips left dry, depleted, weathered, or worn by the day.
Dense, velvety, and deeply protective, Triptych settles into the lips with lasting presence, helping soften roughness, restore suppleness, and shield against further exposure. Red raspberry seed oil rounds out the composition with antioxidant support and renewal.
A resilient lip balm designed to remain present through weather, movement, and daily wear.
Using Triptych
Apply directly to clean lips whenever they feel dry, depleted, weathered, or in need of deeper restoration and lasting protection.
Triptych was designed to remain present longer than a lighter everyday balm — softening gradually with warmth while creating a dense, breathable layer that cushions and protects the lips through daily wear, changing weather, and environmental exposure.
Use throughout the day for ongoing support, or apply a more generous layer overnight when the lips feel especially rough, overworked, or compromised by cold air, sun, wind, or repeated dryness.
The Composition
Triptych was composed around three foundational materials: virgin beeswax, lanolin, and emu oil.
Each contributes something distinct to the architecture of the balm itself. Virgin beeswax provides structure and a breathable protective layer that remains flexible rather than stiff or overly wax-heavy. Lanolin gives the composition its dense, velvety depth — helping the balm remain present while softening rough, depleted lips over time. Emu oil contributes a uniquely soft, penetrating quality that helps the composition settle more comfortably into areas of dryness and environmental stress.
Together, the three form the core identity of the balm: resilient, protective, and deeply conditioning without becoming excessively glossy or occlusive.
Shea and mango butters soften the density of the composition and contribute lasting suppleness and glide, while coconut, castor, and sweet almond oils help the balm spread evenly across the lips while maintaining comfortable presence through repeated wear.
Red raspberry seed oil rounds out the formula with antioxidant richness and support for lips shaped by weather, movement, sun, dry air, and repeated contact with the world. Vitamin E supports the stability and longevity of the blend itself.
The result is a dense, restorative lip balm composed for lips that require more than fleeting comfort alone.
Questions Worth Asking
Why is the balm called Triptych?
A triptych is traditionally a work composed in three connected parts. In this balm, the name refers to the relationship between its three foundational materials — virgin beeswax, lanolin, and emu oil — each contributing its own structure, depth, and restorative character to the composition as a whole.
What makes Triptych different from a typical lip balm?
Triptych was intentionally composed as a denser, more restorative balm for lips experiencing dryness, roughness, environmental exposure, or repeated depletion. Rather than disappearing quickly, the formula remains present longer — helping support softness, suppleness, and comfort over time.
Why combine beeswax, lanolin, and emu oil?
Each material behaves differently on the lips. Beeswax provides breathable structure and protection, lanolin contributes depth and lasting softness, while emu oil helps the composition settle more comfortably into dry or depleted areas. Together, they create a more resilient and adaptive form of lip care.
Does Triptych feel heavier than an everyday balm?
Slightly — intentionally so. Triptych was designed to remain present through weather, movement, dry air, and environmental stress where lighter balms may disappear too quickly. Despite its density, the formula was balanced to remain supple and breathable on the lips.
Is Triptych only for harsh weather?
No. While especially effective in cold, dry, or windy conditions, many people use Triptych year-round whenever the lips need deeper conditioning, longer-lasting comfort, or additional protection from repeated daily exposure.
Interestingly, some of the strongest feedback we receive comes from dry desert climates, where constant sun, wind, heat, and low humidity can leave the lips persistently depleted. Triptych’s denser, more resilient composition was designed specifically for conditions where lighter balms disappear too quickly.
