What Is It

Lanolin — sometimes called wool wax — is a natural waxy substance derived from sheep’s wool and carefully refined for cosmetic use.

Its structure is remarkably similar to the lipids found in human skin. That similarity is what gives lanolin its reputation: it does not simply sit on the surface — it integrates.
